Here at St Mark’s we have all sorts going on between the Sunday services. Most of these occur every week and we have a group (SMAK) that meets at our local pub (The Kestrel) once a month.
St Mark’s also meets a few times a year to socialise and have fun. In the past this has included bowling, quiz nights, an Africa lunch and bring-and-share picnics. While these undoubtably help to raise funds for the church, the main aim is to bring the congregations together and just have some fun!
Being a Christian is just about popping to church on a Sunday right? Fortunately not! Being a Christian is mostly about the in-between bits! And these can be the most challenging! Here at St Mark’s we have small groups that meet during the week to nurture our faith and support each other. During this time we study the bible, follow up the week’s sermon and pray together. We are fortunate at St Mark’s to worship using a variety of styles from traditional hymns to newer songs from Spring Harvest. We recently installed a fantastic new organ, funded by generous donations from our community. We also have a versatile group of musicians who meet on a Tuesday evening for fellowship and to practice music.Read more
