Debbie Veel

Debbie is married to Chris. They have 3 adult children and 2 gorgeous granddaughters and 2 elderly cats. Debbie has lived in Basingstoke for 23 years and has been worshipping at St Mark’s since 2002.

Debbie was a primary teacher and also taught AS & A level biology and science as well as adult numeracy, before doing her Lay Ministry Training. She has been a chaplain in Winchester and both a chaplain and Street Pastor here in Basingstoke as well as being involved in ecumenical work around the town.

Debbie enjoys dancing, swimming and pottering in her garden as well as trips to the theatre and the cinema. Her favourite musicales are The King & I, Mama Mia and Calendar Girls. Debbie has to admit crying at Titanic multiple times and she also loves Avatar. She also likes walking in the countryside and going for cycle rides, as long as there is a tea shop for cakes or a pub midway.
